The Little Web Series That Just Might
First off, I have no illusions about this, I know that not a lot of people are going to watch this, care about these posts, I’ll never become internet famous or anything else that pretentious. I just thought to myself that a lot of people don’t fully comprehend what kind of work, dedication and almost constant disappointment come with the attempt to try and change the trajectory of a small community, that is set in their ways and resistant to change. This series more than anything is about sharing that experience.
The Format
Ok a lot of walk and talk videos, it’s a give in. Even though I am happy to post these online for the world to judge me, I am embarrassed to work on them in front of people. I immediately think of the judgements of the chubby guy in front of the camera, I hope to get over these hangups shortly; however, it might take a bit. Although I do have some fun ideas rattling around so stay tuned for those.
I am going to try and create update videos on the significant events, decisions, forks in the road and all the other obstacles & successes that I encounter along the way.
The content will be driven by trying to increase conversations, challenging the status quo and mining for new ideas. It’s an ambitious quest; however, I believe that putting sending out your vision to the rest of the world to live or die on its own, is the only way that it has any chance of being realized.
How to Get Involved
Obviously, the point of any revolution is to get people involved.
So I hope that the comments will flow, discussions will start and people will begin to challenge their own perceptions of what they can do to make their community better. I have had the pleasure of getting to meet a lot of amazing people in the course of my life, and most of the people who I feel the most fortunate to have met have a deep desire to leave the world a better place than how they found it. It’s a cliche, but I believe that most people want to say that they believe in that goal. Unfortunately, sometimes it takes someone holding up a mirror to make you realize that the actions you are taking are actually working against that goal. So I hope these videos help move things along, I don’t know if they will, all I know is that it is worth a try and I invite anyone who is willing to put in the hustle to try with me.
